Amazon - faulty phone

Hi
I ordered a smartphone from Amazon in July this year through a 3rd party seller. 3 months later and it's knackered. The seller is ignoring my emails. Amazon say that even though they honoured the sale, it is after 30 days so they aren't willing to do anything!
Surely there is at least a years guarantee? The trouble is that I don't know where to go for help or to enforce the guarantee. Can anyone suggest what I can do? Thanks

Why do you think there is at least a year's guarantee?Hi

Do you have any documentation to support that?
A guarantee in in addition to your statutory rights, and there is no obligation for a seller or manufacturer to offer one.
Your statutory rights are explained in MSE's Consumer Rights guide.
The third party seller is responsible. Find other contact details on their seller page on Amazon.
Please do come back with any further questions.0 -
As above, it's not Amazon's problem. You need to chase the seller.0

Thanks but you are both wrong. Amazon have refunded me!0

This is actually another example of why I often choose Amazon rather than other possibly cheaper suppliers - I think they often lead the way in customer service.
They aren't without fault - it can be very arduous getting a VAT invoice out of them or their sellers - they really should do more to force their business sellers to issues invoices.0 -

Perhaps because they aren't registered for VAT in the UK? The VAT from their sales goes to luxembourg. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
If their marketplace supplier is in the UK surely they should be issuing VAT invoices - assuming they're vat registered of course.0

Sorry I perhaps worded my previous reply incorrectly.
Are you VAT registered yourself? I'd presume the marketplace sellers are VAT registered as they shouldn't be charging VAT unless they are (and obviously only certain goods are exempt/zero rated).
If you're both VAT registered, they may be liable to a fine if they fail to produce one when asked. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
