How was it sold to you as most is online and that is selection rather than sale?

You complain giving your reasons just as you would with any other product.

First question are you sure it's even PPI and not ASU as I don't remember Swinton doing PPI. Secondly, why do you think you are entitled to it back?
  • Yes is PPI as read on this website about it, Swinton were fined for it and is in the period i have been with them. I was going into to a Swinton branch where i lived previously, thanking you :)
  • PPI would not be applicable to me, as was not working at the time!!

So you went into a Swinton branch and ended up with PPI? What debt was it to cover? A mortgage?

In that case I would just write to them and explain what you've said here. If you were unemployed that's a pretty clear case. What did you think the policy covered?

That said, if they have been fined and ordered to review sales (which apparently happened back in 2009) that would suggest that they should have already reviewed your case. When did you take the cover? As there may be issues if it was pre-2005.

It is car insurance, which ive had through them for 10 years, home contents insurance for 2 years. Just thought i was covering my car insurance. Where i lived at the time alot of mail went astray so could have contacted me and i never got the mail.
  • Why would anyone be offered (or sold) PPI on car insurance? Something is not right here...
