Does the packaging make any health claims? Many vitamin products do make some sort of health claim and any product that makes a health claim falls within scope of medicines regulation.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0

Accordiong to the MHRA, the UK body that regulates medicines, vitamins are generally classed as borderline products and are regulated under food safety regulations, but if they make any claims to treat or prevent disease they become regarded as medicines. And herbal preparations generally are classed as medicines. So I can totally understand why Boots would class them as such0

What is "wrong" about them? Are they missing different vitamins or other supplements (e.g. iron or other minerals) which you desperately need? Could you not just take them and buy also a separate pack of anything that is missing? You can buy single supplements quite cheaply from most pharmacies, the own brands are just as good.
You won't get a replacement from Boots, you don't have any consumer rights because you picked up the wrong box, unfortunately."I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -

You don't
You have no rights to CHANGE YOUR MIND and surely you can see the implications of a company exchanging a medicine/bottle - no?
Just sell them on and maybe it will become clearWhen will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?0 -
Some vitamins could be prescribed by your GP. In general they would be classed as prophlyaltic medicines."I think I spent 72.75% of my life last year in the office. I need a new job!!"0

At the end of the day they are what Boots think they are and not what you think they are.
Boots destroy anything like this that is returned to them so it is a loss to them and it is down to the individual store how they work it, some will some won't. I was lucky when I returned the ones my wife bought because the same ones were cheaper by more than half at Holland and Barrett a few yards away they refunded, they did not have to.I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0 -
I worked for boots many years ago, They classed vitamins as medicine. On the rare occasion I remember them accepting a refund (not normal circumstances eg a colleague had sold them the wrong one) they had to dispose of them and were not allowed to re-sell them.0
