Does ebay ever find in favour of the seller?

I recently sold a keyboard on ebay, the buyer has started refund proceedings. Is there any point to trying to debate it?
Posting it to him and back again will cost me a total of £80 which seems a lot of money for me to have to pay out for what I consider to be a rubbish claim!
Saving for my first car: £300/£3500!

  • Ebay ruled in my favour and said I didn't have to pay for the outgoing postage or refund the return postage on an item . So it's always worth telling your side of the problem

    It is very unusual for ebay to find in favour of the seller- however, it would depend on what sort of claim they are making and what the reason is

    A lot of the regulars would be very interested in as many details as you are happy to share, it is almost unheard of for ebay to find for a seller- let alone apparently find for the buyer (ie allowing the return) and telling seller not to refund either lot of postage. In fact, I don't recall ever having come across this- so would be interested to know more.

    A lady bought a skirt which I had listed by the label size. She said it was too small and didn't measure what the label size said it was. I said she could return it but I would not refund any posage costs , she didn't think this fair so opened a case. Ebay said that as I listed that I didn't accept returns I didn't have to have it back and certainly didn't have to refund any postage and they closed the case
    They sent me the transcript which I passed to the buyer and see discided not to return the item
  • I've had similar to above where an item was listed with correct measured sizing and the buyer decided it was misdescribed because it didn't fit him.

    Ebay found in my favour, I kept monies inc postage, buyer kept item

    £40 postage each way? :eek:

    How big and heavy is this keyboard?

    Or is it an entire piano?
