Car Warranty Next Steps

Hello,
I was wondering if anybody can help about the best way to proceed with an issue I'm having. My girlfriend purchased a car about 7 months ago from a garage and part of the agreement was to buy a warranty with AutoProtect (Silver Package).
The car broke down over the weekend and has stopped working, we phoned the company up to start the procedure and it turns out we have no warranty!! We have a signed copy of the warranty from the dealer.
We've asked the dealer to chase this up, the dealer has informed me that this warranty has been lost and we need to get the car checked through our own garage to confirm what the issue is. (No doubt so he can say it's not going to be fixed by the warranty anyway).
What can we do in terms of getting the car repaired? Should he front the cost regardless of whether it's included in the warranty or not especially as he's sold us the warranty (£100) but not submit that to the warranty company? He's refusing to assist us at all at this point.
Thanks

Firstly, a £100 12 month warranty isnt worth the paper its written on.
Whats the issue with the car?
Also, whats the make, model, engine type, miles, and price paid for the car?0 -

I don't know the retail price of the warranty that's what he's tellint me it costs to buy auto protect silver now it's become apparent he hasn't paid for it0

The car is a 318i bmw 3 series 80,000 miles 52 plate.
The issue is the chain guards have comepletly broken causing a total failure of the car engine and costs around £600 to fix.0 -
