  • My good morning message was actually longer than that but my keyboard was attacked by a toddler...

And then I wrote several paragraphs only for them to disappear thanks to my erratic fingers and very sensitive mousepad. This old, battered notebook thing really is a slow groaning pain... however she does what I need her to do... and a new one would cost so much money, I shall lovingly type on the old gal a little slower. I shall now write replies on wordpad and save them before putting them on MSE... soooo frustrating losing so much waffle.

Thanks all you lovely folks... it is great to have well wishers along the way, it is giving me that bit of impetus to keep writing in this diary and be kind of accountable to others as well as myself.

This weekend has been very productive for me; yesterday I listed a lot of 3bay and sold several items too. Little one was at her daddy's so I spent the day 3baying, then decluttering and I didn't have the TV one once at all.
Poochie also got a lovely muddy wet walk and being a puddle loving labrador enjoyed every soggy moment of it. The kitchen walls didn't look so hot... and I spent an hour wiping down all the grey water splatters. He does insist on shaking water from his coat inside the house rather than outside 'sigh.'

Whilst decluttering I came across a brand new electric toothbrush - boxed, a man's aftershave gift set and a make-your-own-photo-paperweight set. These things have been added to my Xmas gift stash set.
I also found a few more Ebayable items and those shall go on today at some point.

I am taking Little One to feed the horses today and then back home via the charity shop. I am looking for a board game that is suitable for a three year old and something that will help her with the concept of taking turns and waiting until it's her turn. She is a good little spuddy but is currently going through the impatient phase.

Other plans for today include... checking banking, buying NOTHING but a board game and £2 is our maximum budget, implement a standing order via internet banking, tidy through and make some chicken stew with left overs from Sunday lunch.

Have a lovely day all... whether it be windy, wet, sunny or cold... get out and enjoy some of that fresh air.

  • I haven't updated for a couple of days as LO and I have been very productive and this morning seems like my first quiet period to relax and doing some MSE updating....

*I have given upto date gas/electric/water meter readings to the various companies so I don't get landed with a big bill in the future.
*Listed, wrapped and posted oodles of stuff via £bay.
*Over paid one catalogue by £70
*Managed to shop around, use reductions and cashback to get LO her large Xmas present. K&Co currently have her Disney Princess Palace on offer for £49 (they currently have 25% off all toys), plus I get 10% commission off and I also have £20 in rewards so the palace will cost me £24. I don't use the interest options on the catalogue as they are something ridic like 33%APR... so I will pay a flat £24. I am very pleased. I have also bought her some books and games from TheWorks. They had a 30% off offer (via MSE of course) and I used the free delivery option. A winter coat, winter clothes, a My Little Pony toy and Doc McStuffins drawing station and that's my little one all sorted for Christmas. I normally spend silly amounts... as my credit cards show but this year she has had £100 spent on her, in cash and it feels good. I also want her to appreciate Christmas for the nice food, the nature outside, the festivities and the carols etc not just a mass of presents.
*I have been given two tickets to the Good Housekeeping Christmas show at Harrogate. I am really looking forward to it, I love old fashioned Christmas's and the GH Shows are meant to be wonderful.
*I have weeded the garden and finished covering the veg patch for winter, decluttered the garage completely and put any unloved clutter on £bay and F@cebook.
*I cleaned out the Dyson filter, what a stinky messy job BUT wow has it improved its suction.
*I've covered the wooden garden furniture to be protected from the winter elements.
*Batch cooked until my freezers have groaned. (Chilli, bolognaise, sweet and sour and apple crumble. All gluten free.)
*And most importantly, little one and I have been out for an hour walk every day, painted, glued, play doh'd and coloured in until we can no more. We have been to the library tot's club (which is free) and had a picnic yesterday as it was so mild. TV is now very much a morning thing whilst I £bay. She gets 90 mins max... I put the TV on timer so it just switches off.

I am feeling very positive and every little step is taking me further in the right direction. :)

Right.... back to prepare lunch, I have a guest today.

I hope you all have a lovely, sunny first November weekend.

Have just read your diary and you are doing really well. The only thing I would say is that you really ought to be trying to get rid of Catalogue 2 before the Tesco card as the interest rate is higher (33% against 29%); doing it this way round would mean some saving in interest.

What a lovely inspiring diary HappyGirlie.

I'm enjoying reading what you are doing with your little one. It's so easy to get sidetracked with work to miss time with them. My little one hates the kids TV but is obsessed with Pocoyo and videos of people making stuff from play doh on you tube. I have found a timer app so that it shuts down after a set period. I do think the housework can be sidetracked to spend more time having fun.

Nothings as much fun as a walk in the park/woods.

    Keep up the good work.

    Thank you Denise... :)

I know the catalogue is a higher rate of APR but there isn't much left to pay on it, I always try and pay at least £50 per month, even though the minimum is £5. Oh how they love you to pay the minimum huh? The catalogue will be paid off in a few of months by just throwing these budgeted payments at it.
It's the CC that has me in a state of panic, being 29% and nearly two thousand pounds worth debt to clear... that is why I really want to make inroads. Even if I am paying a little extra interest on the catalogue, psychologically I feel better paying off the card.
