EE or 3?

Hi,

Out of contract on Voda - been with them for years. I've found their 3G pretty awful since moving to North Herts.

Looking at EE or 3. EE have 4G at my house but 3 only 3G. However, 3 seem to have pretty good 4G coverage in my hometown and I'd be on wireless when at home anyway.

Anyone have any recommendations as to which to choose?

The one that is cheaper. I guess it's 3.
Also, EE are in shambles now. Their CS are probably even worse than Voda's.

Agree with Grumbler. EE CS is bad as VF

    3 is OK
EE is appalling - their CS is non-existant
You only have to do a quick search on THIS site or the internet in general for an idea of the way that EE operates !!
  • 3 every time. I'd rather poop in my hands and clap than have to deal with EE customer service.

Don't come onto this bit very often.
But love these threads, it's area specific, no blanket recommendations work for best/worse.

The area we cover for work has no VF coverage at all, phone or data.
O2 is very occasionally 3G, but can usually get 2G.
3 is very hit/miss, so unreliable.
That leaves EE/Orange/T Mobile, good coverage, EE is usually 4G.

The best CS in the world is irrelevant if you can't get their service. :)
    Move along, nothing to see.
  • Thanks all.

Spud17, do you know if your comments apply for Hitchin?

I'd not considered Orange or T-Mobile...

Good point. If it's a choice between EE and nothing, choose nothing.

I'd not considered Orange or T-Mobile...

declaration:I only use a phone for calls/texts, and manage with an O2 payg.

The results I quoted are from my fellow workers who have experimented with the various sims.
Experimenting is the only truly accurate way of checking coverage.

But, for initial research, check your location at,

    http://sitefinder.ofcom.org.uk/

Clicking on a mast will give you more info regarding network, power, etc.
Good point. If it's a choice between EE and nothing, choose nothing.

5 of us work in a very rural area, so no phone is not really an option, especially if you need internet for business use whilst out and about.
One location has zero coverage on any network. :)
    Move along, nothing to see.
  • I've been with EE for 3 months now after having enough of o2 calls cutting out and slow 3g, i have 4g with EE and find it perfect and never had a problem with signal etc but when i signed up the call staff barely spoke any English but we got there and i got my old no transferred ok!
