Lifespan of 16w 2D lamp

Our bathroom light went this morning (at 06:30, typically) and it's not even been in a year yet! Anyone have any lifespan suggestions? If it's a commonly shortlived thing, I might just get my electrician friend to whip it out and put the spare blob-style normal-bulb one in on Sunday...! Otherwise I'll get the guys who fitted it to come back and have a look.

There rated for 10000 hours but frequent switching is not good for them. I would try a branded lamp and see how you get on.

Has the starter gone? If its the bulb. Visit your local electrical wholesaler.

£4 and your ready to go. Plenty of guides on youtube on how to change a 2D bulb...just squeeze and pull..

Unsure if it's starter or bulb: thanks for the tip! Visiting local hardware store for lamp today (have the bulb on me now: Other Half found it easy to remove) so will try it out. We don't do too much switching: on in the morning twice max., and evening once or twice, rarely during the day, even less in summer! Current lamp isn't a brand I recognise, and says it's 'value'

RE: starter or bulb question: the lamp flickered a few times and then died, and is somewhat darker at the lamp terminals (where the glass goes in to the plastic bit). Any pointers on that?
