Definitely the best is www.worldfirst.com their rate of exchange is as good as the CC visa rate - which is unbelievable.
But are they safe ? - I have never used them, so very unsure!0 -

for smaller sums.
But Moneycorp (who feature on that comparison site) were superb value when I repatriated 25,000 Euros a couple of years ago. Miles better than my bank, and really personal service and helpful about timing the transaction for maximum rate. Good the other way I believe0 -

Used Monecorp a number of times for large transactions and both their rates and level of service were very good.
Smoothed the way in setting up a US bank account too.0 -

It may not be the very best rates, but when flying i pre-order through Travelex. Its very handy and competitive, they have happy hour offer all the time too0
