Thanks for your replies :-) .
I understand that many people nowadays don't do favours but we really like them.
Charity is a brilliant idea, we already have cancer research pins for women and bhf trolley tags for men- in memory of my grandad and oh's dad.
On reflection this is probably enough.
I completely agree that spending ridiculous amounts is unecessary- we are having 20ish adults and 5 Children at our wedding with a budget of £1800!November GC- £322.43/£300. Dec - £364/£4000 -
About £50 - we are getting a guy who runs a tea stall in our local food market to do a special blend for us, which we will put into tea bags and package up with the cake to hand out at the end of the night. As others have said too often favours just get left so I figured it made sense to use the cake and adding the tea bag seems like a nice extra.
The charity idea is good too - we briefly considered British Heart Foundation pins in memory of my grandad.
Finally, although they are ridiculously expensive if you're having a big wedding, I think these are brilliant: http://www.marksandspencer.com/create-your-own-percy-piglets-wedding-favours-with-cream-ribbons/p/p60058821 (and you could probably do a really cheap version yourself with bags of sweets and paper/organza bags)"A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -
We had pieces of "just married" rock in organza bags - byt then again it was a Blackpool themed wedding so it fitted in! Total cost was around £20 for 40, but that was for a bag of 500 bits of rock, the remainder of which went into bowls on the buffet table for the evening do, and the 50 or so that were left were acquired by the wedding coordinator for his staff2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Thanks. We haven't told anyone about it so it's going to be a nice surprise, although it will probably make my mum and aunt cry!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -

My friend used personalized candy's (M n M's) with their faces on them. They were really cute and everyone loved them. I agree with the not wanting to take something home that might sit around however cute it is. A practical gift or candy would be a great idea. We used cameras. People took pictures with them and then some took them home and sent us copies and others left them for us to develop and send copies. Good luck and Congrats.0
