We were £47.50 delivered for 108 jars and have spent an extra few pounds buying gingham to decorate the tops and have replaced the labels with homemade ones :j
So worked out less than 50p per favour!0 -
I recently organised a charity dinner dance and we wanted to put out some small items/favours on the tables as a thank you. I managed to get some paper fold up fans on line and put them in pots which went down really well with both the men and the women. Also I got some of the small plastic shot glasses, put about 7 or 8 mint imperials in them and wrapped them in cellophane with a label saying thanks for your support. The fans worked out about 40p each and the mint shots about 50p each.0

With one exception I've never taken a favour home from a wedding because they're invariably tat which might look cute on the table but which I don't want cluttering up my home. The exception was when the favours were a stack of 3 mini Green and Blacks chocolate bars tied with a ribbon.
On that basis, we've decided to forego favours and instead we will be putting on a candy buffet after the meal for the rest of the evening, so the evening guests can also benefit from it. We're borrowing bowls from friends and family, we've bought bags and scoops for next to nothing on ebay, we will buy the sweets from the cash and carry and our venue are happy to set everything up for us! Another thought we had was a chocolate fountain with fruit, nuts, sweets to dip but this was more expensive and we have a couple of guests who can't eat dairy.
I'm not saying this is the right way, but throwing another idea out there0 -
Our budget for favours is £0
We figured as we are paying £100 per head for our guests thats more than enough. They should think themselves lucky they are invited lol.
Having read a big debate on peoples biggest "waste of times" at their wedding, most agreed it was favours. You spend hours making them and they get left behind and forgotten about at the end of the day.
My advice if you are going to make something, don't spend too much of your time on it. People come to see and share your big day, not receive gifts. Everyone knows how expensive weddings can be so I doubt they will expect anything.Total Mortgage OP £61,000Outstanding Mortgage £27,971Emergency Fund £62,100I AM NOW MORTGAGE NEUTRAL!!!! <<Sep-20>>0 -
About £30, total. Everyone's getting a Ferrero Rocher / Lindt ball put in their wine glass - if I remember to buy them in the run up to the big day, I'm not worried if I forget!
The idea's nice, but seriously, I don't like homemade sloe gin at the best of times (that one stayed in the cupboard for a few years before being throw out!)Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard0 -
We aren't really doing favours. Instead, we are putting some Millies cookie cupcakes in the middle of the table for people to help themselves. That way we don't need to buy centerpieces or a huge wedding cake either0

I absolutely love those cookie cupcakes.
Ours are alcohol (gin, whisky or vodka) miniatures in crackers for our December wedding, about £3 each. I agree most favours are left behind so something edible / potable is sensible. I'm sure my sister will go around the tables at the end of the night and pick up any that have been left behind!0 -
Think Favours a complete waste of time but did have a nice item at one party - small choc bar - could be small kit kat etc but covered in a specially home made wrapper - saying thank you for coming - and nice if you can add a picture fo the person and their name too - plus you can print it to match your colour scheme and could be done for around £10.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0

I don't ever take favors home. If they are edible they'll be gone during the night Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0

We're making a donation to the Alzheimer's society as a way of remembering my Nan who won't be able to come to the wedding due to her advanced stage. They do a favour service where they ask for £1 donation per favour and you get a little card with one of their charity pins for each person. We're having about 50 guests but we're going to donate more than the £50 required to cover it. I don't see the point in favours because no one really takes them home so I thought we could do dome good with the cash we may have spent on them.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170
