Hi Colsten thanks for the replies a lot of what you say makes sense but one of the things i can't get my head round is Paypal being able to do an "instant bank transfer" and Halifax knowing nothing about it. As i can't see Paypal fronting the credit
If Paypal requests money from your bank it takes 5-7 days to be drawable funds.0 -
Actually my halifax online statement shows two balances - what is supposedly in my account and in smaller figures below what's left once pending debit transactions go through.
If OP is sailing so close to overdraft regularly, then surely it's a case of starting some serious budgeting?0 -

Since i have ever had a bank account i have relied on the bank to tell me my balance and transactions. 9 months ago i moved my current account from Lloyds to Halifax and was paid £100 by Halifax to do so.
They have the same computer systems, their online banking is the same as Lloyds, same set up, just Halifax branded rather than Lloyds. They are part of the same group, just have seperate licences.0 -
You also need to remember when you use your card.
Once the pre-authorisation has expired the bank allow you to re-use the funds. Im suspecting this is where you may be going wrong.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
