You have spent months telling Scottish Nationalists that their wanting to separate from the UK is a sign of their innate racism yet apparently your lot wanting to separate from Europe is completely different.

I dont want to live with Scottish nationalists or English ones. I like getting on a plane and having access to dozens of countries and the freedom to work and do business wherever I want.

I dont want the likes of you and Graham mucking it up for me.

    please do try and keep up;

people who believe in AOBE and believe that the Flower of Scotland is a suitable anthem in the 21st century can reasonably be called racist

people who believe that further 'integration within Europe' is against their own interests are not racist.

You may believe in unlimited and unrestricted immigration into the UK from all countries of the world but I don't think it is in my own or my families best interest.

I am happy to compete with anyone... I am also happy to work anywhere in the world that offers me opportunities. That is one of the great advantages of the EU...

Good luck. You may find other parts of Europe more of a closed shop.

Simple - its the size of the market.

The US is demonstrably large enough to sustain an internal market for most industries and also large enough to manage the multinationals. So for example it can apply massive fines which no multinational can ignore as they cant afford to be excluded from the US market. Europe appears to be in a similar position, for example fining Microsoft $100Ms. Do you believe the UK could do the same? No - we need them more than they need us. We cant prevent them moving profits away from our country, the US can from theirs.

The US has many globally important companies compared with the UK. Its simply because US companies can grow to a large size within the US and so have the resources to move elsewhere. In software for example most packages are US. Why? UK ones could be better. Again its the size of the internal market. Software development usually only becomes viable if there are large numbers of customers to pay the large development and maintenance costs. Its very difficult to make profits early on if you start in a small local market and very expensive if you start outside your own locality.

So currently only the US, EU and increasingly China provide the right environment for the creation of the globally important industries that are going to become more and more important in our lives. My prediction for what its worth is that the economic pressures for larger markets will continue, at some stage the US and EU will be too small to be more than niche players like the UK would be outside the EU.

how many trans European software products are there?

do your economies of scale require Eu parliament and further integration e.g. legal systems etc?

should English become the mandatory language within the EU

If you think the way your adopted country treats aboriginals is OK, seems a bit rich to accuse others of racism.

Why, in what way would Generali be responsible for Australia's treatment of aboroginals (irrespective of whether said treatment is good, bad, or indifferent)?

I see no logic in that argument whatsoever.

...Another is my excellent Polish dentist.

My dentist is Swedish. At least that's where she got her dental qualifications. She doesn't look Swedish either. My best guess would be that she (or at least her parents) were originally Iranian.

I never said responsible, I said he appeared to accept the situation whilst accusing others of being racist.
