Change pre pay meter for free?

Hi are there any electricity companies that will switch my pre pay meter to a direct debit meter for free? I moved house two months ago and am getting nowhere with Scottish power my current supplier despite complaining. I'm constantly worrying of getting a power cut due to being housebound. Thanks

My friend's daughter has had a credit meter fitted by British Gas in the last couple of months. She was the new owner of the house and had to check with several companies before BG agreed to the switch.

In the meantime, you might be interested in the Scottish Power ‘In Home’ Pay As You Go option
