Best way to package Wellington boots

Hi, I put a pair of Wellingtons on Ebay. In case they sell, which is the best way to post them without using a cardboard box?
Just bubble wrap and then wrap them in a black bin liner? They are 17 inches high, so I am hoping to get away with posting them using the small parcel postage price.
Thank you.

Grey shipping bag could be the way to go.

You could always use Hermes if getting them small parcel size is tricky.

Possibly reverse them so that one sole is with one top, wrap them in bubble wrap as it's great for keeping them tightly together and then sellotape it. Strong postage bags are best. If you don't have any, you could always turn a delivery bag inside out (one which you've received possibly from online shopping) or a very strong store carrier bag. I received an item of clothing recently in a black bin bag and it was almost ripped through in so many places. Parcels get flung about so the bag needs to be able to stand up to that. The way I look at my parcels I send is that I send the way I'd like to receive it myself, if that's any help.

Also the small parcel rate has changed from 20 October until 15 January 2015. You are now allowed 45 cm x 35 cm x 16 cm for £2.80 up to 2 kg. Under 1 kg was £2.80 for 2 different sizes before but now more straightforward with the above sizes and increased weight allowance. I hope they decide to keep this after January but time will tell. :)

Thank you so much for the advice. This helps a lot!

I would use some flat card, ie an old box and wrap it around them and then put them in a mailer as described above.

If you use Parcel2go you get a £10 credit to send your first parcel, so use a courier with free tracking, plenty to chose from. Google p2go first label free for the code.

If you can get them as a small parcel under 2kg that is the way to go. Some wellingtons are quite heavy so check the weight.
