Outdoor light sensor / passers by

Hi all,
Hope someone can help. One of my pet hates are outdoor sensor lights that trigger when somebody walks on the public footpath rather than when the person is on the property. Our neighbor opposite has this and it drives me nuts. While I cant do anything about the neighbors, does any one have any suggestions as to an appropriate sensor I could use to prevent this on my property? I have drawn a plan of the front of our house. Ideally I want the two lights to be triggered when a car or person comes up the drive. However, the drive is barely longer than the cars so if I place a normal IR sensor on the garage pointing forward I inevitably pick up passers by.

I thought about placing a sensor on the garden wall (blue dot) facing back to the house but this would involve trenching a new channel for the cable and it would also be difficult to get the cable it into the garage which just seems to be too much work. Also, aesthetically I am not sure it would look good to have sensor in this position as the wall is only 8 bricks high with 15 brick high turrets.
Any solutions? Are there an alternative sensors I could use?
Thank you in advance for any help offered

I can't see your diagram so its tricky to advise specifically. However we have a sensor (separate to the light it controls) which is mounted on the corner of the house and in theory has a 360 degree round "vision" and 90 degree (i.e. from vertical down to horizontal) vision. It came with a shield that you could remove parts of so that you could restrict the "view" to just the areas you want. So for example you could with ours restrict the view mostly downwards when looking towards the street, but be looking further when looking across the front of the property.Adventure before Dementia!0

My set up is similar to yours and I found a bit of experimenting with repositioning the sensor under the light and adjusting the sensitivity on the sensor base eventually meant it only picked up people on the drive, rather than on the path0

I think from memory ours is the same brand as this one - and seems to work in the same way.

Mask off the top half of the pir: this is generally the long range sense.
If that doesn't work try masking off the bottom half!
Trial and error, but it is possible to do what you want to achieve 😊

Thanks for the responses everyone. Obviously not been looking hard enough at standard sensors. For the outlay involved I will give it a shot. Thank you0

Go with the remote sensor idea but don't point it towards the house, it makes it too easy to creep up on and disable for anyone intending wrong doings.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
