What to do....

So a buyer after having an item for a month has said she put the trousers on her daughter and is not happy with them because they are too big in the bottom. I had listed them as the size on the label and don't remember them fitting my daughter funny, but nonetheless I said she could return them even though i'm a private seller cos I know if she tells ebay they are not as described they will tell her to return them anyway.
I've received them back today and they weren't packed very flat so it was a small parcel at a cost of £2.80 instead of the £1.17 I paid postage. They haven't mentioned return postage costs and have not opened a return or left feedback so far so no defect yet. So do I just refund the original item price & P&P (£4.50) and hope she's happy with that? What would you do if she asks for return postage? Say tough? Send her £1.17 cos that's what it should have cost her? Send her the £2.80 which will leave me down £4 including the original postage I paid? Or claim I haven't received them back cos she didn't send them tracked?! (Not that I would do this of course!)

I wouldn't refund her postage, most definitely not. The item wasn't faulty.0

I personally would refund her the total cost of the item including postage. Then block her. You will lose the money you paid to post them but I would not let this experience dishearten you and relist them. I would not send her the money for return postage costs. Even if she asked for it I would refuse in this case.
Returns have to be requested within a set time. I think the minimum you can state on Ebay is 14 days. As you said though, if they claimed they were not as described then you would most likely have to accept a return anyway.0
