Any opinion on this speaker system

Hi All,

Found these on eBay but not heard of Dantax and wanted to see if anyone here has a) heard of them b) Can tell me if the specs are any good?

Price seems fine to me and you seem to get a lot of kit......any thoughts?

Top of the line, my a*se. Not for £230.

Go to Richer Sounds and get something by Tannoy for slightly less or slightly more money. It'll be better than the Dantax, make no mistake.

Or any of the JBL or Pioneer combos for around the same price....

But it's got a Phase Ploug and a Soft Doem Tweeter! That's got to be good, right?

This is not a "system", it is just a set of speakers as noted by the bullet at the bottom saying you need a separate amplifier

The 400w is also indigenous as this isnt their output but the sum of their maximum handling capabilities. The power that goes to them is defined by the amp not the speaker. The volume achieved is dependent on the power, resistance and sensitivity.

Googling they only seem to be sold in eastern europe and normally for around £200. You also need to budget for an AVR, speaker cabling and a subwoofer.

At this price point the sub is going to be a significant proportion of the budget and so assuming you knew it was a 5.0 system and you do indeed want a 5.1 then I'd look at something like http://www.richersounds.com/product/speaker-packages/tannoy/hts101/tann-hts101-blk which has an active sub with it hence the higher price.

Remember even with the above you still need to buy an AVR and should be looking to spend almost the same again on that

    Hi

I have personally have not heard of them.

Also, if being pickey the set of speakers are not complete as there is no sub-woofer.

I have Tannoy speakers which I can not fault. Build and sound quality are excellent.

But a good set of speakers also require a decent amp to drive them.

    Ben
  • I didn't buy them in the end. Thanks for the advice all.
