Not happy with new glazed panels

Hi,
Please offer some advice before we kick off.
We have had new glass panes fitted in our bathroom today. The new panes have a very apparent black strip running along the top which is fully visible.
The installing engineer told us that "they are all like that when replaced".
Does anyone have an expert view as to the untrained eye, this just looks wrong!
Thanks for your help.

To me that looks like the pane is too small for the window... why no black line at the bottom !!!!!!!0

Plus the sealed unit is not parallel to the frame. Either something is out of square, the unit is the wrong width, or the packing/spacer blocks are not correct. Regardless, I would not be paying for this until I received satisfactory answers, and a satisfactory sealed unit.0 -

They look wrong. All four sides of the pane should match. If three sides can be made without a black strip showing than all four sides should be made that way.
Insist on a product that looks right. Either all sides with a black strip or preferably all sides clear.0 -
That looks weird.
Things that aren't even/square/straight get me going!
Maybe he will run a marker pen round the 3 sides to match, sure he'll have one tucked into his cowboy hat somewhere.0 -
I wouldn't be happy with that either.
Looking at our windows we have a thin, 5mm approx, black strip all around but it is equal on all four sides.0 -

Perhaps so, but this is inexcusable, all the more so when the customer has pointed out the problem. It appears the customer then received BS from the installer, instead of an apology and the removal of the glazing beads and packing the sealed units.
Perhaps OP went to a dodgy company, perhaps they were the cheapest rogues, but this does not excuse cr-p work.0 -
Looks as if they are glazed with double sided glazing tape so not a simple job to fit packers. There is a chance of breaking the glass when trying to remove it, as others have said it's poor workmanship but due to the type of glazing and the risk involved i'd insist that the company who carried out the work put it right.0
