£12 credit for eligible power customers
Options
Not sure if already posted, but has anyone noticed a £12 credit being applied to your electricity bill?
I spotted it last night, and a brief google search popped up a government document saying all eligible customers should receive a £12 credit to their account from their supplier with 6 weeks commencing Oct '14 - very quick read of document and it appears that everyone is eligible.
Nice unexpected bonus

Just noticed mine from Npower today, was not really expecting it as I was on fixed price tariff, and I assumed fixed meant just that, but never look a gift horse in the mouthEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

The £12 rebate is a government refund to do with the previous "Green levy" which has been altered so we all should get £12 refunded by our energy companies. Eon have just applied the refund to customers' accounts.0

Hi warhead
Sorry for the late reply. Only just seen your post.
As you say, we've started applying the £12 Government Electricity Rebate.
We'll pass on £12 to electricity customers who were with us on 12 October 14. We're aiming to have this done by the end of November14.
Most credit customers will see this as an adjustment to the balance on their accounts.
Some will receive a cheque. For example, customers who've closed their accounts but where we don't have bank details.
Where we do hold bank details, payments will be made direct to their bank accounts.
Prepayment customers will receive a voucher they can use to top up their meters. Unless, that is, they're registered with special needs like braille. These customers will receive a cheque.
Customers receiving a balance adjustment will see this on their next bill. All other customers will be advised by letter.
Sorry again for the late reply warhead but hope it's of interest.

I'm with SSE anyone had their £12 rebate from them yet? Nothing showing on my account.0

I've not had anything from EDF.0

Got mine from coop 2 weeks ago, only joined them last month0

I got the £12 in my most recent bill, which was triggered by my submitting my meter readings.
Presumably it's on the account, just waiting for the next bill.0 -
I entered my readings a few days ago for a bill, which came this morning, and the £12 had been taken off.

Nothing from ScottishPower or Ebico, but then I didn't get anything back last year when there was that first rebate.0
