Freesat comes through a dish, Freeview through an aerial, as you know, and they're not the same because it's a different set of channels, and different EPG. No-one can tell you how much it'll cost to add the extra cable you need to watch one/record one because we don't know your house. The price starts at the cost of the length of Shotgun cable you need, and DIY (and a £15 ish quad LNB). If you do this, wire up all 4 outputs of the LNB and throw them into the roofspace or something so you don't have to go up to the dish again if you want to upgrade in the future. Since you've already got a cable, you're just getting someone to come up and replace it. That depends on how easy your dish is to access, and the path that the cable follows. Get at least 2 quotes.

Thanks hadn't considered the additional TVs, although we only have 2.

Maybe it would be best to get an aerial

Its not really any hassle, my only preference for freesat was based on already having the dish in place

To be honest I think I'll get someone round to have a look at what we have and recommend something.

Get the right band, usually Band A, and probably a Yagi type aerial.

My Band A Yagi is so good, I put multiple 20dB attenuators on it, unless it's split lots of times.

You would be surprised by how good a log periodic indoor aerial can be. Sometimes all you have to do is put it higher on a tall bookshelf.
