I use hob bright. Use it on the hob, the glass doors and even my stove door if that gets tarred up

    Yet another vote for Astonish!

I use it on my ceramic hob too. I especially like that it doesn't smell of chemicals and doesn't leave any chemical smells in the oven.
I find most of the astonish range is pretty good.
  • High jumping this thread as toiling to find what I am looking for... Sorry.

I am sure there is a method of cleaning your oven where you put a concoction in a bowl in the oven and heat the oven for a period of time, then just wipe clean? Or did I dream it? Does anyone know this method?

My new oven does this, with just water. It's marvellous.

I keep my oven pretty clean, but haven't actually tried to clean the glass doors for erm, years! Does some thing like Astonish work on that? I did spot it in poundland the other day. I have tried a brillo pad but it didn't do much. I do have a big pink box of something that you put the shelves in so judging by this thread I could put one of the glass door bits in too, but still need to tackle the door which doesn't come off.

I've just picked up some Astonish in the shop, flipped it over to read the instructions and hastily shoved it back on the shelf.

There, hidden in the small print, it says not to use it on self-cleaning ovens. Now, [a] I don't know why, I don't know if my oven's self-cleaning. So back it had to go until I know whether mine is or not.... or why it says that.

I use ASTONISH on the oven door too and it brings it up sparkling clean. I used it on a stain that I had on my Brabantia bin that I just couldn't shift with anything else and the ASTONISH took it off in seconds. I always rub it on gently with my fingers then just wipe it off with a damp soft cloth.

It's only 85p in Home Bargains and lasts for ages.

Waow! How amazing is ASTONISH? Got some in poundland and it really does astonish. The tiles behind my cooker get cleaned regularly, or so I thought. I have cleaned a few of them using astonish and just a cloth and I can't believe how badly I was cleaning before. All those little bumps of cooked on grease that you can feel but can't see easily, I have been able to get off with a wee bit of effort. As you can imagine I now want to clean the whole house with this stuff.
Thanks so much to all who recommended it.
