Do you have the council tenancy in place? If so just move out and leave them to chase you.
The letting agent will write a few letters then drop it leaving the LL to do the rest.
You do not owe the letting agent for management fees, that's between them and the LL, they are bullies and will not win these amounts in court.0 -
Yes, it appears it is the same sort of thing, as the link you posted. I havespoken to Shelter. They are very sympathetic, they advised to take a secure tenancy, as may not get another chance. They think the deposit replacement schemes are dubious, but legal. And they set out the facts in legal terms, basically to end the tenancy the landlord has to agree and can ask for whatever he wants to do so. I was asked to pay management fees as the landlord had paid these up front and would be out of pocket.0
