I made my last payment December 2013. I'm still waiting for Grant Thornton to issue my completion certificate.

They are so unhelpful whenever you call them.

It really is like banging your head against a wall.

Sounds like you need to make an official complaint.

Another question regarding this please. I put in an official complaint to DFD at the start of the year. Had my final correspondence from the complaints team this week, basically apologising that I was given incorrect info on how long closure would take. They are, apparently, preparing the final report for the IP to approve and then I will get my completion certificate but they haven't given my an indication on when that will be. So do I just sit tight for a while and see if it appears or take the complaint further? If I wait, how long for? If it turns up in the next couple of weeks that's fine but I don't want to be still waiting in two months time. It'll be 7 years in June since the IVA started and whilst I haven't had to make any payment since May, it's really frustrating that I'm not able to start rebuilding my credit rating.

    Thanks in advance.

I would continue with the complaint. They have not actually answered the question, just told you it's now with another department. You will still be waiting.

Remember that until they issue the completion certificate and notify the insolvency register, to the eyes of the world you are still in the IVA.

I was with Grant Thornton and it took 11 months (and a lot of frustration) for me to get mine. Mine was with the Closures department for months.

Thanks, that's really what I was thinking. Just wanted to check I was being unreasonable.
