Have I Lost Emails?

I've just bought a new computer (Windows 8.1). I use Outlook 2007 for my BT Yahoo Account. I've set up my email account on my new PC but can only find incoming emails for the last month and none of my Email Folders with saved emails are showing.
My old PC died and has been carted off for recycling. Is there any way of finding the missing emails? Will BT have them on their server?
I do have the hard drive out of my old PC but don't really want to pay any more to get engineer to look at it.
Thanks.

Hi North-East_Quine,
You should not have lost any emails if you had saved the hard drive from your old machine. I assume it still works of course?
The easiest way is to fit the drive into a USB Enclosure, and then connect it to your new machine. Look for a file called outlook.pst on your old drive, then copy it over to your new one. Once you have done that, open up Outlook 2007 on your new machine, and then look for the Import / Export Tool in it. Tell Outlook to import mails from your outlook.pst and ignore duplicates. Depending on how much email you had stored on your old machine, within an hour, you should have everything restored.
I hope this helps.

That sounds pretty straightforward. Where will I get a USB Enclosure and how much do they cost?
Thanks so much for your help.0 -
What brand name and model the old PC? Can you remember?0

You can check whether or not the emails are still there on BT's server by going to BT.com, clicking on the Email link and logging in.
However I seem to remember that Outlook (certainly 2003, not sure about 2007) defaults to removing messages from the server when you download POP emails, which could be the issue - in which case you need to retrieve from the old drive as other are suggesting.0 -
Old PC was an HP Pavilion desktop. I don't remember the exact model.
The hard drive is a Hitachi Deskstar.0 -
I've looked on BT Mail but only incoming emails for the last month are showing. There are a lot more Sent emails.
I wonder if it's because the incoming emails were filed in Folders. All the Folders are gone too.
I did have the settings on Outlook for 'leave a copy on the server' so I wondered if BT might be able to help.0
