Does anyone know where I can find the rules (legislation?) on the order of payments to credit cards?

This information is usually incorprated into the cards Ts&Cs. Generally, payments are applied first to that part of the balance which attracts the highest interest rate and then progressively to the lower rates.Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

Usually there is no need to struggle with the small print in the T&C as the main information is available in the summary box, e.g. Read summary box0
