Private Member's Bill on revenge evictions to be presented to Parliament

As neither a LL, nor a tenant, I would like to offer an unbiased opinion:
Politicians are becoming less friendly towards private LLs.
Politicians are now looking for more votes from private tenants.
Scotland has compulsory LL registration.
Wales is just introducing it and also changing all tenancy contracts.
England is now looking at more legislation in favour of the tenant.
I predict this will make the prospect of becoming a private LL less appealing to people with money to invest.
So what effect will all this have?
Less BTL LLs?
Less properties to let?
Increased rent levels?
I predict a gradual reduction in small scale "amateur" landlords.
But maybe more full time "professional" landlords, who may "take up the slack", so leading to less landlords, but each with more properties in their portfolio?
Maybe more money being invested in pensions or stocks and shares?
Because interest rates are set to stay low, so saving is unattractive.0 -
While I would welcome a even playing field for both LLs & Ts..
Unless there All party support for this bill, this private members bill will simple run out of parliamentary time...
Parliament is in recess next week, then there Xmas and New year plus the holiday recess's 2015 and Parliament will be dissolved 25 days before the general election on 7 May 2015...
Look at the blue and red on this chart here http://www.theguardian.com/news/datablog/2013/may/15/eu-referendum-bill-cameron-datahow many private members' bills pass?Advice given on Assured and Regulated Tenancy, Further advice should always be sought from a Solicitor....0 -
