I apply pressure by meeting the terms of the car park they kindly allow me to use for free of charge - thus seeing them unable to issue me with a ticket, therefore minimising their earning potential.

Let's all do that and watch them fall.

And all that will happen then will be PE pressurising Aldi to reduce the maximum amount of stay so that they can catch people out again. They both have form; Aldi has a 'record' as a result of being fined at court for reducing times in direct contravention of planning permissions.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Strangely I do the opposite - I apply pressure by always keeping an eye on the Aldi Facebook page and PM'ing anyone that posts about getting a scam invoice, watching the local council planning portal to check Aldi and Parking Eye aren't trying to reduce the parking conditions and also by IGNORING their rules. Many a time I've overstayed ..... guess how many of their fake invoices I've paid ?

Aldi is just one supermarket though ..... and parking eye do not operate in all of them..

@Acorn5 - if that tactic has worked for you then - yes that would prevent any parking charges being issued. However that relies on the premise that you know the car park well and are fully aware of any purported parking terms and conditions and that these do not vary.
Considering the way in which many car parks operate and put up their signs then that is a tall ask for every motorist to follow.

@ Hotbring - yep we all know your relationship with ppcs :-)

The main thing is that should people receive a parking charge notice they know what to do with it and keep up with current new advice.
  • always good to use our legal system as effectively as Aldi and their partners, parking eye, do. IMG_20140516_170707_zps2ae73117.jpg

  • I would encourage more people to take them to the small claims court for loss of earnings.
