well I,ve been with Npower for about 13 months now, just viewed my bill, but I have no yearly discount of £42 or whatever it is by paying by direct debit for 12 months in a row
I,m on the march 2017 fix deal, am I wrong in thinking I get the rebate at the end of the 12 months or is the discount already factored in by cheaper daily standing charges?
anyone else on this deal with npower and got their annual discount?

I don't think they are allowed to do that now (thanks to ofgem).
The DD discount is now incorporated into a lower unit price.
It was intended to make bills simpler by removing discounts.0 -

Depends on when the tariff was on sale.
I think the cut off point was July 2013. If it was on sale after then the discount will need to be built into the charges. If it was taken off sale before July then it can remain on the old discount scheme (but npower could choose to build it into the other charges as long as it didn't disadvantage customers financially).
I think the npower DD discount was a flat £'s per year discount so it would be built into the standing charges rather than the unit rate.
You should be able to go onto the npower website and pull up a Tariff information label, compare a CC and DD one for your tariff at your postcode and it will show you if the discount is built in somewhere.

Looks like they only use the Tariff Information Label for current tariffs (technically a breach of license conditions), but you can download a spreadsheet showing all old tariffs. If you are on Price Protector March 2017 (the only one thats fits your description) it states the DD discount is now included in the Standing Charge. So you are now accruing it daily but won't see it as a separate line item on your bill.0 -
yeah just had a look they now give it off the daily standing charge,
am I right in thinking the discount when looking at comparison sites already have this in the standing charges (the discount) or lets say if it shows 25p standing charge the discount will come off that in the bills? so it maybe I don't know 22p each day instead? or is it already come off when u look at comparing sites0 -
The quoted standing charge in pennies per day should now include the Direct Debit discount (in pennies per day). This is much easier for consumers, don't you know? (That's what Ofgem says.)
Seeing a list of 23p and 26p and 18p and 21p and fathom out which is the base charge, which is because it excludes VAT, which is because it has a direct debit or dual fuel discount. Plus they will mention the Direct Debit discount separately.
That is clearly so much easier than the "26p per day standing charge plus a 6% off your total bill. (Or £55 off your annual bill.)", Ofgem.0
