Letter from Sky - wanting to refund me outstanding credit

Hi all,
received a letter today from what appears to be Sky saying:
"We're writing to let you know that after checking our records we can see that there is an outstanding credit of £XX.XX on your account
We'd like to organise refunding this amount back to you as soon as possible. To do this, we need you to give us a quick call so we can confirm that the details we have for you are still correct."
It then goes on to say call us on 08081 01 44 37 to arrange the refunding of the credit.
Im a bit suspicious because we havnt had Sky for over 10+ years now.
Can anyone confirm if this is legit? Its not for a large amount. Just seems a bit strange.
Thanks

At least they are trying to refund you.
If you are suspicious I would phone Sky's main number you can find on their website.0 -
If they have your details then you can get them to give them to you and you can confirm them rather than you giving any details over the phone.
Or ask them to write to you and you can confirm that way.0 -

Search Google and the number does come up on saynoto0870 site as a free phone number used by sky previously.0

MSE news article- 25 September 2014:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/utilities/2014/09/former-sky-customer-you-may-be-in-line-for-a-refund...Sky said it began sending letters at the beginning of this month to some customers who left the telecoms giant before 2012 explaining that they're due a refund. ....
....The letters list a free phone customer services number – 0808 101 4437 – so you can get in touch to get your money back ....
.....Sky says this is a legitimate letter looking to reunite former customers with outstanding payments. .....0 -
Any scamming company can appear to be calling you from a number of their choice; I've been called from my own number.
It's unlikely that Sky would have records going that far back, so I'd be very suspicious, but you can always call Sky's customer service, to confirm.0 -
I had one of these letters a month or two ago after i had cancelled, it looked legit until i checked the account number which was different from my actual sky account.0
