Closed Credit Cards

Morning all

Just a couple of quick questions; I have cancelled one credit card two months ago, and cancelled another last month. How long will these remain on my Noddle credit report?

I am now left with two credit cards, combined limit of £5.5k, I hardly touch one (just for the annual holiday as it has a credit limit of £5k) and the other just for shopping/fuel.

I always clear them at the end of a month (now. phew!) I presume having two credit cards does not ruin my credit rating?

Thanks again.

Pay your bills on time. Borrow wisely. Register on the electoral roll.

There'll be no need to even look at your credit report.

Closed accounts will stay on your report for 6 years. These accounts will be moved to the Closed Account section of your Noddle report once Noddle get the update from the card providers.

I have closed card payment details going back to September 2008 in my Noddle report.

As it stands the Noddle report costs nothing. This makes it worthwhile to occasionally check to see what they have on you, matches what you have done.

To get the best deals from credit cards requires chopping and changing after an incentive to remain has ended. This may even involve opening new current accounts. To do this you need a spotless credit record and this requires eternal diligence.

You could bury your head in the sand and never look at a credit report.

  • how long is a piece of string?

I closed/settled a Lloyds card back in june, it still shows as open on my file after SEVERAL requests for it to be marked as settled, latest from equifax was: they will show it as settled in 'due time'

I replied IN DUE TIME??? it is 4 months already when is the 'due time'???

    Fighting a losing battle then!!

Never mind, they're all at nil value anyway, cards are cut up, can't/won't be used.

Just concerned that when I remortagage they will see I have a pot of available credit I could potentially go nuts with.

    Thanks all.
