Wedding contractor problems!

Hi All
I am a total newbie so please be gentle!
Me and my partner are getting married in March. The venue recommended a contractor to decorate the venue for us, as this wasn't a service they did themselves. We visited them and they seemed absolutely fine, and they had a lot of credentials and awards.
We went ahead and put down a deposit of £50. We then visited and went over exactly what we wanted and she said she was going to send a quote out. We eventually got this quote (after needing to request it 3 times) emailed to us and it was cheaper than the others we got as well. We went ahead and I paid it off in full, thinking this would be the end of it.
This was About £300 on top of what I had already paid. We started struggling to get them to respond to our messages and I asked a question about something related to the table decorations and they said they had "forgotten" to add these to the original quote and the quote was going to be almost DOUBLE what we had already paid. :-/ They also wont speak to my partner even though his name is on the contract and a lot of the responses he has gotten via email have been one word and or very rude.
I was obviously not happy with this, but we dont know what we can really do about it. Are we pretty much stuck with them as they are clear that anything paid to them is "non refundable" etc, but we really want to find someone else before its too late as well. We also cant really afford to write off £350 of our small wedding budget either. Another problem would be if we are stuck with them, how awful the atmosphere would be needing to work with them on our wedding day if we were refused a refund.
Any advice would be greatly apprciated! Thanks!

Does the quote list the table decorations, was it missing from there too or was it a generic "as discussed"?0

Hi
I'm afraid its a pretty generic response. :-/
They have put in it the "chair covers" though, but it was for the wrong number of people as well.
I honestly thought that this wouldnt be a "big deal" and would be easy to sort. I guessed wrong and it might just end up being an expensive lesson.0 -
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
