Can you include your website url so I can have a look and see if I can make suggestions etc. Good luck

OP..do you have any jobs booked in yet?
You can leaflet drop until the cows come home but you really need to now get on with doing the job.
People will see you out and about. Hopefully they will also approach you while you are on the job.
Growing a business takes time and the best and lasting way to do it is by personal recommendation.
Get to know your areas , get to know about the competition and please do not expect things to take off until you are established.0 -
Hi, No the gardening is set aside, as not the best time of year, I will offer it to clients I get on the windows, The money is better for Window cleaning and I want to get the window cleaning business started quicker and it long term, so need to gear all my energy towards that. I kinda wanted to do the gardenign as I have a passion, but window cleaning to me is a fantastic job, no boss, meet people and chat, out and about, fresh air, you have no stress in the job as you no what to do. Nice locations and plenty of cups of tea lol.
I have thought long and hard and I am focused on my long term goal in building a big round and then building further from that, but thats for then and now is for promoting.
It is tuff, but its getting there. There are plnety of dirty windows, one lasy said to me she never had a window cleaner and came home one day and was embaressed by her windows and thought it must represent myself, so she has booked me. I am shocked at the amount of filthy windows out there on my travels, some people really do not like to see outside lol. But being serious, the 50% of people whom dont have one/dont want one, do change their mind, so need to pick away at them.
Thank you for all your input everyone, very kind.
I just need to keep pushing the flyers, door kocking the website and FB accounts, its slow but in it for the long haul. Have to try.0 -

You are SPOT on, thank you. No I am plugging away, I have flyers in chip shop, newsagents, all over the place, facebook group joining and gaining custmers on there, flyering, door kocking, local ads, papers etc. Website, I a trying to push that and get it better placed. Tuff, but trying.
I no it is not going to work right away, its really hard times, but it is what I want to do and I am in it to win it, I really want to try and that I am. I have had a horrid year, following an accident I dont really want to go into, its upseting, and I have lost everything due to PTSD. I am building my lofe again and choosing a different route and its scarey, but its giving me focus, its somthing I want and I have questioned myself about, months of thought.
I do get nervous, I worry, but I have to try and make it happen, its a fantastic life style, I no a window cleaner not near me and his life is great, plenty of earnings, windys make a good wage, out and about fresh aire, no boss, music player on all day, freedom and a job I actually want to do myself.
Thanks agian all for the advice and things to watch for.0 -
hi newdirection
have you actually started your round yet? How frequent will you visit, every 4 weeks or 5 or 6?
How much do you need to earn per week, bearing in mind you need to save about 1/3 of what you earn for tax and NI.
If you are working on a 4 week cycle you in effect need 4 rounds, one for each week When I was windowcleaning 15 years ago earning 120 per day was very do-able, but hard work. However you then had to spend time collecting. In this day and age, tinternet makes that easier for you. Our window cleaner has a website you can log on to and pay by paypal. He does no collecting apart from being paid when actually cleaning someones windows.0
