FYI submitted a query to trustnet via their website and received the following response:

Unfortunately you cannot record sale of units. You can only manually subtract the number of units you have purchased. We have added this as an enhancement request for the future on Trustnet.

No no, I did not mean to miss out the word MANY.
Sorry, brain packed-up entirely some hours ago. Perhaps I can get my doctor £56 by getting him to check me for dementia! :p

However you can get a free account with trustnetdirect which does have a buy and sell within its portfolio tool. This is run by the same organisation and has a nicer look and feel. I only spotted this a few days ago so haven't used the sell option myself yet.

within trustnet I did notice banner adverts to move virtual portfolio to trustnetdirect. Note There are also adverts to move your actual portfolio to them as a broker too which is not what you want as this is chargeable.

If you do import your portfolio to trustnetdirect free account perhaps you might come back here and report on how it went.

You can add buy/sell transactions to the FT Portfolio.

It's free and is working for me - I started using it after giving up on the Trustnet one.

Have found all my funds/ITs/ETFs so far without difficulty.

Thanks for tip and FYI anyone else who is looking; the FT portfolio is a great tool - does exactly what I was looking for.

Separate portfolio's set up for ISA and pension, allows cahs holdings, and lots of useful tools (and I've only just scratched the surface) - very customisable.
