I've a new modem/wireless hub arriving tomorrow.
I'm currently running the internet via a cable modem and then via a seperate router.
I'd like if possible to not hardwire the hub to the PC in order to get rid of the cables entirely, but I'm not sure what the best thing to do is for quality downloading speeds etc.
PC is a 64bit , 2.2Ghz AMD with 4gb Ram.
There is no built in wireless but I have a 150mbps usb dongle.
Any and all advice appreciated.

a wired connection will always be faster , however d/load and run wifiexplorer on an android machine to check for other users close by using the same radio channel0

I'm assuming you have Virgin and you are getting the new superhub. Using it wirelessly will be fine for downloading at their speeds.
What sort of usage/downloading do you do and how many devices will be connected wirelessly at any one time?Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Other devices include a Now TV box which gets a lot of use, 2 laptops and 2 tablets (obvisously not all running at the same time). I also have my phone running from the wireless when I'm in the house for browsing.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

You might want to upgrade your dongle on the main PC. How much cable do you want to eliminate? What is connected by ethernet at the moment? Could Powerline adapters help to cut down the wiring to the main PC?Drinking Rum before 10am makes you
