Excel parking charge notice

Thanks to the sticky I'm going to appeal via email using the template and attach a photo of the evidence of my valid parking ticket to dispute code 94(not paying and displaying - typically it slipped off the dash).

The reverse of the PCB states "when submitting your appeal IT IS IMPORTANT that you ) include fill details of the reason for your appeal/challenge along with any supporting evidence. 2) the PCN ref number. 3) Your name and address.

Is it necessary to explain anything or will the template & photo of my ticket be sufficient?

Is it necessary to provide my address as they can simply respond to my email?

Thanks in advance

  • Read and read again the NEWBIES thread and follow it to the letter.

Look up other Excel threads before you do anything.

Do not infer who was driving. You are appealing as the KEEPER not the driver. The wording on the Excel NTK is a trap so don't go there.

Be timely but don't hurry this. There is a strict process to go through, so understand it.

Come back when you have digested all the info. You will not pay anything if you follow the map the experts have put together.

  • Thanks for your response Northlakes.

I've been reading the information for the past few days, this isn't an area I'm familiar with. So I want to do the right thing within the right time frame.

The flowchart within the newbie thread<can't post the link> says to appeal the PCN, threads I've read have advised people to wait for the NTK. I'm trying my best to understand it all but I'm unsure of what to do as I'm reading different experiences.

Has anyone had any experiences with companies that charge a small fee to deal with this on your behalf - such as parkingticketappeals. org .uk/ ?
  • If you haven't time or inclination to get involved the parking appeals is recommended and is run by two forum members.

Some of us who have an interest in contract law and seek fairness in the way it is used like to help others learn how not to be bullied.

For the time involved in sorting out PCN's £16 is well worth in my opinion.

  • I agree £16 is worth it, its not that I dont have the time or inclination, more the worry of not following the right process but thinking I have.

There are enough expert posters on this forum to get you through it.

Follow CM and her worded appeals have a near 100% record of winning (should be 100 % but a rookie assessor got one wrong the other day).

Look up the Excel threads and follow the posts, look at the sticky, POPLA appeals won. Excel issue so many false invoices that you are bound to find somebody before who has won at POPLA, probably on the same car park.

If you are uncertain, post your first soft appeal here and someone will come back and correct it (if needed).

But remember, no mitigating circumstances, do not infer who was driving and keep cool. Be ready for the initial appeal being turned down (however there is increasing evidence as soon as a PPC sees a CM MSE appeal they fold). Also did you complain to the retailer where you were shopping? Retailers don't like this at all. PPC's are a scourge of modern society but you will win.

You have got it right and need do nothing yet. Use the template appeal only when you get the NTK, if so far you have only had a windscreen PCN. DO NOT enclose a copy of the silly P&D ticket unless you are very careful only to describe it as 'the driver's P&D ticket'. Obviously not 'MY' P&D ticket'!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
