I am 12 months into an 18 month contract with Virgin. I am having to move but to a non-cabled area. Virgin tell me I have to pay the remaining 6 months up front to cancel. My view is I want to continue with Virgin and it's not my fault they dont offer their services on what is a virtually new estate. I have tried to discuss this but they just keep quoting the clause numbers in the contract.
Do I have an escape route?

Equally , it's not their fault that you have chosen to move. Their contract is to provide services at your present home, which they do.0

You have chosen to move to a new home in an area you know doesn't have Virgin. This is 100% up to you and 0% up to Virgin. You will likely have to pay an ETC.
If you were a gym member in a minimum term and moved to a new area where the gym company don't have premises, you wouldn't argue that it is their fault they don't have a facility near your home. You would pay to cancel.0 -

It's certainly not Virgin's fault that you have decided to move! Your contract is for Virgin to provide services at your current address, so by moving away it is you who are breaking the terms of the contract.
This question comes up with alarming regularity on the forum. The answer is always the same-you'll have to pay.0
