Ebay Advise Please

Hi Everyone

I bought a tent from Ebay and it was not as described. After talking to the seller, they insisted on going through Ebay as they would not give me a refund. I went through Ebay and was given a full refund. However I still have the tent and had no contact from the seller or request from Ebay to return it.

Can I get rid of it or do I need to return it to the seller? He was most unplesant and I would rather not have to contact him again.

All advise is welcome.

Thanks

October xx

I think eBay are behind on returns cases, I have had one open since the beginning of October and it went to eBay for a resolution on 9th Oct and still heard nothing.

Can you not store it in a shed or something? I doubt very much you will need to return it now Ebay has refunded. They may have decided to refund you out of their own pocket rather than making the seller do it. So the seller has kept the money so are not bothered.

If you had somewhere to store it for a few weeks at least if the buyer did ask for it back you could tell them you had it and ask them to arrange a courier to collect it. Really though I think it is unlikely you will need to return it. If they were unpleasant to deal with then I really would not worry about it too much and either use it if you can or dispose of it.

Use Livechat to ask ebay - whether you need to retain it in case seller wants it back, or if you are free to dispose of it. They make the rules.

Not really, live chat are as useful as a chocolate teapot. I wouldn't trust anything at all that they told me.

The case was resolved on 12 September and I have not heard anything. I dont have any outside space so I have had it stored in my room to the point I am tripping over it.
