Cheap new kitchen

topsales
I have been trying to sell my house, without success - and am well aware that it really needs a new kitchen. Can anyone help me with approximate cost for new units (floor and wall) on two walls of a medium sized kitchen and including worktops, oven and hob and sink and taps - also including fitting. I realise that this is like asking how long is a piece of string but wondered if it would be possible for under 2 - 3K? And any suggestions as the who is the best supplier - Howdens? Band Q? Wickes?

Why not look online for ex display models in your area? you could find some fair deals that way :0)0

probably the only person alive who can help....Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Ikea offer good value. The house probably not selling eill probably be to do with the price though. People are often happy to put in their own new one.
Make sure yoj're not buying a new kitchen and end up dropping the price anyway. A badly fitted kitchen is worse then an old one so get it fitted properly!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

As you have probably - hopefully anyway - seen that is a sarcastic suggestion and not to be taken seriously.
As Doozergirl says, Ikea have a cheaper range if you do want to replace things, but I would agree that it may as well stay as it is and price accordingly.
Save you some effort and save the new buyers throwing out what you put in, if they dont like it.

As others have said, Ikea make good sense at the budget end of things.
Howdens have their October "sale" on at the moment and Benchmarx their "big bang" and the bottom end of their ranges would also suit at the moment.
A well fitted Wickes "Smart" kitchen or B&Q IT would also do a job for you as a seller kitchen.
It should be possible with low end appliances to get inside the upper end of your budget fitted with any of the above right now.0 -

I have just had a quote for the same from Howdens ( small - mid size kitchen , oven hob tap sink worktop and its £3200 in the "sale", fitting including the fitting ( but not supply of ) two doors & plastering & eight spot lights £2000 and doesn't include the fitting of the floor. So over £5000
I'd love to know how to bring this down to £3000 if you have any advice @cddc
thanks0 -

Cant help with the extra works, but it may pay to try a different Howdens Branch and fitter. You can often get them to compete against each other, crazy though that may be!
Also the kitchen price will depend on which door you have chosen. Greenwich is normally the cheapest.0 -

Changing the kitchen can be quite expensive ...sorry for asking the obvious, but have you thought about reducing the price of the house to reflect that the kitchen needs doing.
There are buyers who want a new kitchen, but there are also buyers who can see past the current condition and would rather have a discount on the house price and put in their own kitchen to their spec rather than having a cheap kitchen that was put in for the purpose of selling.....frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend0 -
sorry to hijack the thread and yes cddc - its the greenwich and had two different branches and fitters quote - still over £5000 !0
