Am Moving soon so was looking around Ebay for some bits to start of my New home, Now the Problem is i contacted a seller becase the postage wasn't stated on an auction before bidding on it , to which he replyed the postage he imagined to be £3.00.
I placed my bid and won the Auction i Recieve an invoice tonight asking me to pay £4.00 postage to which i asked why the change that i thought it was £3 im angry ive been charged a pound extra ok so its not alot to get angry about but to me it is as i wouldnt do that to a bidder.
Now the thing is as his added the extra i could basically buy these items brand new in the shops cheaper
ive also got a good Feedback of over 200+ and never had a npb filed against me so should i just pay (and bite my lip) or refuse ? would i recieve a npb alert for non payment or is he wrong for over charging payment and is there anything i can do.
Any Advise is Apprecated

I dont think there is much you can do.
The use of the word "imagine" could be his comeback and if ever a seller doesnt put their postage in you should try and get an email from them saying it in concrete terms. ie postage is ......
If i were you id pay the extra pound,it wont kill you and it will preserve your record. No the seller shouldnt get away with it but just dont buy from them again.
Hope this helps,

it's a quid.............................
- weigh the item when you get it and price up postage on the royalmail website,
of course add a small amount for packaging materials
the seller may be genuine here, and why sell at a loss of postage to some git who moans about 4 quid not being "around 3 quid"money saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

im sorry to jump in on the bandwagon here, but i think that its irrelevant how much extra its up to the seller to find out before saying how much.
would you be happy if you bought from a large scale company who said yer it'll be £5 p&p and then come back a coule of days later and say actually my mistake it'll be £6..i doubt it...you'd be onto them in a shot why is this case any different??
ok so its only a pound but hey its a 1/3 more than they originally asked for...would the issue be different in your eyes if they said i imagine it will be 15£ to deliver and then email back later saying actually it will be £20???
i dunno, i woulda thought ebay woulda been on your side on this one, if the p&p isnt listed you made contact and he gave you a value i cant see how ebay could side with the seller on this one?? but i'm sure i may be contradicted0 -
I would probably pay it! I know it is frustrating but if I could have got the item for just £1 extra in a shop then I would have definately gone for that! you get a reciept and you are seeing first hand what you get! As he did say imagine and hasn't fully stated in the auction then he probably guessed and got it wrong!

I agree with angelcake when she says that for a little extra you can buy the item brand new from a shop and get a receipt.Last week someone on here was selling the contents of their spare room.I read the list of items and was interested in a few of them but not the whole room!!! lol I mailed her and said that if auction didn't sell could I have the items I'm interested in.She came back and said she wanted full RRP!! No way am I paying RRP to her when I can go to the shops and do the same.
My advice is that if you see something on E-bay but know for an extra few quid you can get it brand new and with a receipt I would do that every time. But in answer to your question I would pay the extra pound (grudgingly and to keep your good record)and get it set in stone next time you ask.Don't be happy for a seller to say "I imagine it will be".Get them to find out or I wouldn't bid on their auctions.
I think it should be compulsory for sellers to state p+p charges, its not that hard to find out so why do some people not do it? Its beyond me.....:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0
