E Cheque

Just sold an item and the buyer wants to purchase by e-cheque to my PayPal account. I can see that the monies have gone in but are not cleared, and it says estimated time for cleared cheque is the 11th May. Do I wait for the cheque to clear or do I send the goods now?

wait for the funds to clear and then send it. You might also want to email the buyer as to the situation so they do not come to early conclusions when the item does not arrive.

However if the buyer has high feedback eg.30+ then you could send it to them in advance, however id always go for the first option.

Its better to be safe than sorry

I agree with the earlier responses. These e cheques have a high failure rate so don't send the goods until you actually get the 'payment cleared ' note from paypal.

Keep the buyer informed and don't be surprised if the clearance date moves further and further away, check out a thread on this board yesterday where dates of up to three weeks for clearance was mentioned.
