PCN cancelled without having to appeal

Hi all,

Having read all the advice on MSE about private parking charges and having received one myself on Saturday last for £100 from Parking Eye. I did a little digging and found out who the landlords of the retail park in Llanishen, Cardiff were and I emailed them directly, yesterday, explaining why I was in the retail park and that I had proof on my bank account, if needed. I also stated that I thought it was harrassment and very upsetting. I had a reply immediately to leave it with them. This morning I have a very nice email to state that my PCN had been cancelled and I would hear nothing more. Just to be on the safe side I replied thanking them and asked did this mean that I did not even have to send in an appeal to Parking Eye and I had an immediate reply that I needed to do nothing further and they were glad to be of help.:A Your help on this site is invaluable. I would not have known what to do without you. Thanks again you are all amazing x

This is heartening in all ways normabev - long-time lurker?, you turned to the parking forum. You read well. You did it all solo. Parkinglie capitulated early[new-ish trend for them]. You followed up to ensure this was confirmed.

Hi Ampersand, I will certainly help if I can. I'm keeping copies of everything I had emailed from both parties, JUST to be on the safe side. I just cant imagine what the Landlords must have said tp Parking Eye. My friend whom I met on the fateful day also had a fine and I've advised her to do the same, she is now awaiting a reply from the site Landlords. I will let you know how she gets on too!!

If everyone did this then ParkingEye would be kicked out of this and other sites in no time, but sadly most people are just clueless and and/or apathetic.

Before anyone mentions it these aren't fines, private companies cannot legally issues fines for anything. They're actually invoices. They will be presented in such a way as to mislead you into thinking that they are some sort of legal document but that's all part of the scam.
