How long will it take to move in?

I'm currently living with a friend and I'm thinking of moving out and buying a flat. I'm going to be paying cash and I was wondering how quickly would I be able to move in.

There's no chain, the one I'm interested in is new and I don't have to sell anything.

Thank you for your help!

...How long is your piece of string....

some house sales can be completed in as little as a few weeks.we had one go through in 4 weeks....some can take considerably longer,we had another that on the face of it should have taken no more than 6 weeks and ended up taking 6 months.
each case is different depending on each part of the chain and their circumtances.

So many variables make it impossible to say.

Our vendor was purchasing a new build and we were in rented, so short chain. No delays with our purchase, but the builder of the new build hadn't sorted out the drainage easements which delayed things somewhat. That sort of thing is impossible to predict. May be worth finding out how long the LA takes to do searches as this seems to vary wildly between LA's.

Other variables include the workloads and competence of your solicitor.......
It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.
