ContraventionBA02 - Debt Recovery Letter Received

Hi

Please help - I have received a letter from Debt Recovery Plus asking for £150 for payment of an unpaid parking charge for a BA02 contravention at Birmingham Airport, however I've never received the original PCN from APCOA Parking no any other letters. This debt recovery letter is the first correspondence I have received.

I have until 29th October to pay the above charge. I don't believe I should pay it, how do I go about challenging when I don't have any other documents.

Moto

Welcome to MSE - hope you find the info you want on this forum because it's already here on loads of relevant threads recently.

You won't have got any replies because we don't need to cover DRP letters yet again (sorry, no time and not important, it's junk mail). Search the forum for 'DRP' or 'Recovery' and you will know why we can't respond individually to threads about this same old letter chain again. No need to mention any of these letters as they arrive.

Also if you search 'APCOA DRP' you will find at least two other threads just like this, same scenario, already dealt with last week (same as you where APCOA never sent a PCN at all). Do let us know what happens when you follow the advice from those other threads and complain to the BPA.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It's not a 'problem' and there really is no need (pleeeeeease) to post every time another well-documented, boring junk mail letter arrives. Ignore it. Any question you have about DRP, the answer is NO, they can't!

READ THIS BEFORE YOU START A NEW THREAD ABOUT DEBT RECOVERY PLUS!

But if an Operator has mucked you about and ignored an appeal then complain to the BPA.

I've had a letter back from APCOA, here's what it says -

    Dear Sir

Thank you for your letter etc...

The notice was sent on 14/08/2014. As we did not receive any correspondence within the specified timeframe, the case was passed to a third party for collection.

As a result, we are no longer handling the case ourselves and all future correspondence should be addressed to Debt Recovery Plus.

What do I do next - there's no POPLA number or anything?

Complain to BPA Ltd. (as you were already advised above) that APCOA's debt collector is pursuing you when you never received a NtK and they are refusing you a PoPLA code.

This seems to be happening all the time now with APCOA.
