                    Hi,
We are flying into Malaga early November. We hope to visit Seville and Granada. Can anyone recommend nice hotels, good standard not too expensive in both these cities. Any tips would be appreciated. We are both in our 70's but young at heart.

We did that trip with Riviera tours. To be honest, we couldn't have done it any cheaper ourselves. It's a semi guided tour with plenty of free time as well. It's worth looking at the itinerary for ideas.

The hotels used are the Hotel don Paco in Seville and Hotel Corona de Granada in Granada. Perfectly acceptable and well situated although they are 'tour' hotels.
If you fancy a good value lunch in Seville, go to El Cortes Ingles (Spanish equivalent of John Lewis) they have a good restaurant. We also liked the tapas bar called Catalina opposite the don Paco.
In Granada there are lots of good restaurants and tapas bars around the cathedral area but the hotel did a reasonable buffet dinner if you don't feel like going out after a long day.0

It's 30 years since I stayed in Seville and Grenada, so no specific recommendations.
However, I've recently been looking at accommodation in Grenada, with a view to going there again. I was using booking.com to see what was available and situated reasonably close to public transport. And checking reviews there and on tripadvisor.
It's the only holiday planning/dreaming I've done where the costs were coming out cheaper than expected. There are a LOT of hotels/hostals in Grenada offering basic accommodation at a reasonable price. My reading of it is that Grenada has been a traveller/holiday destination for centuries so has a lot of older buildings that pre-date the more modern holiday destinations on the coast. A lot of them have small rooms, a lot of them can't be made into en-suite. So the prices have to be pitched below the 'average' holiday hotels elsewhere.
 Hope you find something suitable.
How are you planning to travel around? Car hire or public transport?0

From booking.com, a random example of how cheap somewhere reasonable can be:
Basic hotel (rather than a hostal).
Traditional building (16th century!), courtyard etc.
Quiet location, but only 10 mins from cathedral
3 nights in November: £84 for a double room (or was it Euros, even!)
That's total, not per person, or per night!

OP, I think you're looking for something less basic, but it gives you somethng to compare against, and there are loads of all standards on booking.com
 Good luck with your research.0

We took a city break to Seville when Easyjet were offering £100 deals and stayed at the five star Barcelo Sevilla Renacimiento.
Located on part of the former Expo site, it is slightly out of town, but there is a bus stop right outside the hotel for the the circular C1 / C2 service. The service runs late into the evening for evening meals in town and also connects with the main train station and several other tourist sites. Buses operate on a system similar to the oyster card, which can be purchased from the news kiosk at the train station (where the airport bus also stops).
Only hotel I have stayed in that has a chocolate fountain as part of the buffet breakfast.....for the young at heart to enjoy...
The hotel has a conference centre, so prices vary slightly differently to those of other hotels, but if you were in Malaga for a while, you could have some flexibility.0

Stayed in a family room/apartment in the hotel Murillo in Seville's Santa Cruz district about 6/7 years ago.
Really central, about 5 mins walk to the cathedral with loads of bars & tapas places around. Would recommend it, although people staying in the hotel proper rather than the apartments report a lot of noise. It only takes one tree to make a thousand matches, it only takes one match to burn a thousand trees. As well, the cars are all passing me, bright lights are flashing me.

Why did he think "systolic" ?0

Hi, thanks for all your suggestions & tips. We hope to travel by car. Flying into Malaga then driving to Seville.0

In July we flew into Malaga and used public transport to travel to Granada, Cordoba & Seville (and then also back to Fuengirola).
In Granada we stayed in the 3* Room Mate Leo
In Cordoba we stayed in the 4* NH Amistad Cordoba
In Seville we stayed in the 5* Gran Melia Colon
We booked direct with the hotels.
We would stay in all three of them again. Take a look on Tripadvisor for reviews.0
