Daewoo PVR - Can't record on DVD-R

I have a Daewoo PVR and for some reason when I try to dub something I've record on the hard drive to a DVD-R it doesn't work. I can see it buffering like it is transfering it but when I try to play the disk or try to finalise it it states that the disk is empty. I can do it with a DVD+R though. However the manual states it supports DVD-R. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Thanks

does it not mean it can support reading from DVD-R but only records to DVD+R? the manula should have a list of what media it can record to i.e. DVD+R/RW0

yeah, these things can be really funny about the formats they support for 'x' function, have a good thorough read of the book.
if you still think it should record to -R, give us a model number to go google with

I've just looked in the manual (Daewoo DHR-8100P) and it states that you can finalise using either -RW, -R, +R.0
