I'm also looking at a hotel in Cap Salou for next year (Festival Village) and from what I've read it looks like it is a ten minute drive into Salou itself.
Apparently Cap Salou is quiet on an evening even more so now as a judge has moved to the area and the bars have had to really limit noise.
The buses are only about 1.50E a journey with a special card though.0 -
From Festival Village and H10 Med it's about 20 minutes walk to Salou along the coast, or a 5 minute bus journey. This would take you to the start of Salou, which then stretches for a good couple of miles.
The bus takes you along from Cap Salou, into Salou and then further on to Cambrils in one direction or across to La Pineda in the other direction.
Personally I would prefer to stay in Cap Salou as yes it's quieter but its really easy to get everywhere the beach is smaller and less busy and if you choose the right hotel there will be plenty going on anyway.
If you want a lively hotel in Salou itself try the Internacionale 2, the Villamarina Club, Sol Costa Daurada, Golden Avenida or the Villa Dorada.Lea0 -
From Cap Salou, it would be walk able (just) to the beach front and the center of town in Salou but you could also use the Plana buses (if you're not planning on renting a car) which are plentiful and relatively cheap, especially if you purchase the T10 bus pass. We've stayed in Cap Salou before and whilst it was quieter, we found it a little too far away from everything for our liking. This summer, we stayed at the Sol Costa Daurada and it was ideal for getting to Port Aventura. The land train also stops right outside. The hotel was good, very clean, food was fine though rooms were a bit on the small side for us. However, it was also one of the very few hotels to have a fridge in the rooms which we found invaluable given we went in August! We walked passed the Hotel Vil-la Romana most days going into town and it always looked and sounded a lot more lively than our hotel ever was! I got serious hotel envy, lol!
Seems to have good reviews on Tripadvisor too so next time we go back, will probably aim for that.
