APCOA - Luton Airport - Debt Recovery Plus LTD

Hi All,
I've been looking through the existing threads on APCOA and Luton Airport but have not seen one that resembles my circumstances.
Last week I received a Debt Collection letter from Debt Recovery Plus Limited 'demanding a payment of an unpaid parking charge £130'.
It notes the PCN No. and mentions the creditor as 'APCOA Parking (UK) Ltd) and the contravention as Overstay.
I don't however have any further information. I did not receive a PCN through the post, nor a ticket on my car. This is the first I have heard of this matter. I have tried to find the PCN on the APCOA website but this has proved unsuccessful.
It might be useful to note that the parking charge date was in June and the date of the debt collection letter is October.
As a result, I'm not entirely sure what my first action should be. Should I contact APCOA directly and ignore Debt Recovery Plus? Or should I also contact Debt Recovery Plus? Or ignore the whole thing?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Look again. This forum is littered with APCOA/Luton threads, which all follow the same pattern. Yours is not different enough to warrant and different actions.iDidntDoIt wrote: »I've been looking through the existing threads on APCOA and Luton Airport but have not seen one that resembles my circumstances.0 -
Hey - thanks for your reply.
You're right, the forum is littered with APCOA and Luton threads. But I've not been able to find any advice for a situation where a PCN was not received.
I will continue to search and will update the thread when/if I find something more relevant.
Thanks.0 -
Your "situation" means next to nothing to these guys - Look at the proven ways of seeing them-off instead.
Don't make the mistake of assuming you are in a different boat to anyone else with one of these invoices.0 -
Well done for finding the Forum and mse, op

If you don't feel you are seeing advice you like here, do this, from FBF and gan's post back in March:
'Dear Sir
Ref *****
I deny any debt to APCOA Ltd
Refer it back to your client
For your information, I have never received any communication from your client
It is therefore out of the question to make any payment
Don't contact me about this again
I will not reply and will refer your client's breach of KADOE to DVLA
Yours faithfully
I wouldn't contact APCOA at all
Why should you waste your time and expense alerting them to their own failures ?
If you do nothing, any letter that you receive other than "PCN cancelled" or "Sorry you didn't receive this notice first time" is a reason for the DVLA complaint'CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Thanks, that's a good strategy to assume.
I've found a relevant thread here
forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=4909913
Which kind of took me in the right direction.
I will now be contacting the debt recovery company as noted here:
forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=5035872
"Dear Debt Recovery Plus. This debt is denied. Please return the case to your principal. If I received further correspondence from you I will commence legal action against you for harassment. Yours faithfully"
I will also be writing to APCOA using the first appeal template found here:
forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=4816822
I have seen that I should also complain to the DVLA and BPA. Not sure how these complaints should be written and what they should include however. If anyone can point me in the direction of where I can find some guidelines, that would be fantastic. I understand that I should also ask the DVLA when the registered keeper details were accessed. Would this be part of the same letter?
EDIT - I have just seen your post ampersand. Thanks.
I like that approach. Maybe that's the best way to go?0 -
We have no template for complaining to the BPA or DVLA as it's just a matter of writing an email - two lines maybe - attaching the offending letters and complaining as keeper about the fact there was never a PCN served at all so this breaches not just the BPA CoP but also creates no contract whatsoever and is unprofessional and against Consumer law. Email addies are in post #6 of the 'Newbies FAQs' sticky thread.
DO NOT talk about who was driving nor the fact 'there was no PCN on my car' as that almost gives away who was driving. You are the registered keeper complaining about the letters from DRP and the fact no postal PCN was ever sent by APCOA.
Remember, whilst they WILL investigate complaints about an AOS member, the BPA are on the dark side so no telling them anything except the above.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
