Credit card - which one to apply for?

Hi
I am looking to apply for my first credit card having managed my monthly spend through my debit card most of my working life.
I want to use it mainly for groceries and fuel - with the odd 'other' spend in there also - and have earmarked the Amex Platinum Everyday mainly due to its cashback offer.
I envisage that the monthly spend on fuel to be no more than £150, groceries also aroud the same and with the 'other' spend i would assume to spend £400 on the card monthly so am I making the right choice and what are the alternatives?

OP - You are unlikely to get a Amex card as a first credit card.
Better off trying your own bank or something like Capital One ExtraThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
