CHAPS/RTGS down today

In case you're expecting to make a CHAPS payment today the system has been taken down by the Bank of England as part of a wider issue with the Real Time Gross Settlement system. The BoE have promised that "all payments made today will be processed" but it's not clear when the backlog will be cleared.
